My eyes have been fixed firmly on London lately its times like this living in the far flung corners of the world is less than ideal. Over the last few weeks the london design festival had me on the edge of my seat waiting for twittesphere updates on events I would have given my right arm to attend! There was the Sarah Hyndman (of Type Tasting) talk on the influence of Typefaces, Irma Boom on the importance of books, and the unveil and first inking on New North Press first 3D printed Letterpress font.
While I couldn't justify a trip over for the festival I was thrilled to discover this Monotype promotional video released for the LDF event I was the most excited about... Alan Kitching (one of the world's foremost typographic printmakers) at the V&A.
In it Alan outlines a recent collaboration with Monotype to celebrate the the legacy of poster design and designers.
