Since launching the TYPOgraphJournal in June 2014 I have used DHL and Auspost to ship the documents to customers.
In December I received notification from DHL about an international shipping price increase (of an average of about 5% to most destinations) that will be effective from the 1st of January. To Follow Auspost also announced an increase for business postage and pre paid services effective 3rd of Janurary.
These raises come on the back of another postage increase earlier in the year (both domestic and international) of 10-30% to most destinations that I choose not to pass on to customers... Over the last 6 months this meant TYPOgraphJournal was only breaking even to many destinations and making a loss when shipped to some.
I created the journal to share with industry not to generate revenue - but as a small run publication, I don't have enough margin in the documents to absorb these next rises. So it is with this total transparency that I will be raising the prices today.
I will continue to work with shipping providers to seek options that give our community the best value reliable postage I can find.
I want to thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm for the journals - These changes will help ensure the long-term viability of the publication.
