New Zealand’s foremost graphic and visual design community, Design Assembly, celebrates its ten-year anniversary this year. The leap spoke with founder and designer, Louise Kellerman, about how the organisation has grown into a business and a national hub for Kiwi designers.

Loving this project from Jess Cruickshank. The Christmas Calligraphy Drive is an effort to raise funds for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Through this website, you can order gift tags personalised with names written in beautiful calligraphy. 100% of gift tag sales will be donated to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Lovely penmanship, for a great cause, shipping is in Australia only (unfortunately for those of use further afield)!

The plea went out a few weeks ago from the bookstore in a port city in southern England: “Care to lend a hand?” The store was being forced to move due to rising rents, with no budget to move their thousands of books, the community rallied and a human chain was formed. Long live the local bookstore!
