Do you want to learn how to design a typeface for Devanagari? David Březina will be giving a workshop on the topic, from August 22 to 27 in Bern, Switzerland. The week will consist of lectures, independent work, and feedback sessions. Designers with some experience creating Latin typefaces will have the opportunity to extend their projects with a Devangari counterpart. A part of the workshop will also be devoted to Devanagari font production.
Typeworks is a new series of workshops, focusing on the world’s writing systems. It is organised by the Typeworks team in collaboration with Rosetta Type. The aim is to encourage typographic literacy in non-Latin scripts among European designers. The number of participants is limited to 14. If you are interested and would like to apply or learn more, see the Typeworks website for details.
The deadline for applications is at midnight, July 17, 2016.
